The brief was to create a physical shoulder model to display implants at a world leading trade show event. The model needed to be eye catching and anatomically correct. I worked closely with Ogle models to fulfil the brief. I optimised the 3D bone and soft tissue models for print. Ogle Models used ClearVue with a superior high gloss and silicone for the soft tissue. We injected the soft tissue with black ink for a semi-transparent smoky finish. This allowed the white implants to be visible through the soft tissue while making them stand out at the event. I also designed a base that allowed the model to rotate which encased a removable LED light to shine through the model.
For more information on how the model was made please read the case study by Ogle Models.
